		<content type="html"><![CDATA[Hi everyone,<BR>&nbsp; <BR>We've got a lot to think and talk about.&nbsp;&nbsp; This will be Joanne's final meeting with us.&nbsp;&nbsp; She'll continue with PRS meetings, but will be leaving the Board after many years of faithful and wonderful service.&nbsp;&nbsp; Thank you, Joanne..&nbsp;&nbsp; <BR><BR>It will be Vince's first meeting.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; After many informal requests for someone to take over, Vince was the one who finally accepted the challenge and we all unanimously applaud him for it&nbsp;&nbsp; We thank him for being willing to step in and learn as he goes.<BR><BR>I'm starting to pull the agenda together, so let me know what you're thinking we should include.&nbsp;&nbsp; <BR><BR>We'll meet at Joanne's House<BR><BR>Monday March 5th at 8 pm.<BR><BR>Thanks.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Dody]]></content>

		<title>Some wonderful concerts you'll wish you'd been to</title>

		<content type="html"><![CDATA[The performing group of the Philadelphia Recorder Society consists of 7 recorderists:&nbsp; Joanne Ford, Hiroko Manabe, Vincent Hurtubise,&nbsp;Joan Rosen, Linda Blowney, Sarah West and Dody Magaziner.&nbsp;&nbsp;December 9th they played for the Awbury Arboretum's Annual Plant and Wreath Sale in the Cope House at the Arboretum&nbsp;&nbsp; December 13th they ventured to Center City and Played the Lunch Hour at The Bourse.&nbsp;&nbsp; Music included Holiday Carols from the 14th century thru to such newies as I'll Be Home for Xmas and Rockin' Around the Xmas Tree.&nbsp;&nbsp; Percussion was used to good effect on several pieces.&nbsp; Linda Blowney, doubling as vocalist, added spice and zest and beauty to many of the&nbsp;carols...well and not so well known..<BR><BR>Piffaro's&nbsp;Xmas in Mexico concerts, Dec 15, 16 and 17 in Center City, Chestnut&nbsp;Hill and Wilmington were&nbsp; stunning, thrilling experiences.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; My favorite venue&nbsp;for viewing and listening was up in the choir loft at the Presbyterian Church in Chestnut Hill.&nbsp;&nbsp;Piffaro was augmented by extra trumpeteers, and was joined by the Philadelpia Choral Arts Society, a choir of 80 voices.&nbsp;&nbsp; From the choir loft everything was crystal clear.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; This was true whether the full choir and all of Piffaro were playing, or as in many cases, a quartet of voices accompanied by lute and harp&nbsp;&nbsp;was playing.&nbsp;&nbsp; The music was exquisite, melodic, harmonically&nbsp;full and soul stirring.&nbsp;&nbsp; It was a remarkable,&nbsp;and memorable&nbsp;evening.&nbsp; Don't you wish you'd been there????<BR><BR>Back to the Philadelphia Recorder Society's performing group.&nbsp;&nbsp; They will continue rehearsing thru Jan and Feb in preparation for performing for Play the Recorder Month in March.&nbsp;&nbsp; A return trip to The Bourse is planned, and maybe&nbsp;to&nbsp;a Borders Store as well.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<BR><BR>Now let's give Piffaro more space.&nbsp;&nbsp; Their February concert, <STRONG>Sweet Pipes will include a young recorder player, winner of the ongoing nationwide competition.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The five &nbsp;finalists for this competition are from CA MN and Washington DC.</STRONG>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<STRONG>The final play off will be held at the Germantown Settlement School on Jan 20 at 7:30, and you are invited.&nbsp; </STRONG>HOWEVER.......we are looking for donors.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;People willing to donate frequent flyer air miles to help in the transportation of these talented young folke.&nbsp;&nbsp; So if you have frequent flyer miles you are willing to part with, please contact<BR>Dody Magaziner<BR>dody18@webtv.net<BR>215 886 2241<BR><STRONG>and we'll work out the details.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Thank you very much.&nbsp;<BR>And, we'll look for you on Jan 20th at Germantown Settlement, and at the<BR>Sweet Pipes: The Art of the Recorder concert<BR>Feb 23&nbsp;at St Marks, 1625 Locust<BR>Feb 24 Presb &nbsp;Church of Chestnut Hill&nbsp; 8825 Germantwon Ave.<BR></STRONG>for tickets and info:&nbsp; <A href="http://www.piffaro.com">www.piffaro.com</A>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; ]]></content>

		<title>Lindsay Consort at All Hallows again!</title>

		<content type="html"><![CDATA[<STRONG>The Lindsay Consort</STRONG> (Dody Magaziner, Len Blumenthal, and Charles Gabriel) are playing for 2 Advent Sundays again this year at All Hallows Episcopal Church in Wyncote.&nbsp;&nbsp; They tend to play church-friendly&nbsp;Renaissance tunes at various points in the service.&nbsp;&nbsp; This year they will be playing some of the tunes accompanied by the church music director on a <U>harpsichord</U>.&nbsp;&nbsp; Check them out on Sun.
